About Your Instructor, Christine Elder

Hi, I'm Christine!

In case we haven't met, I'm a naturalist, educator, and biological illustrator living in Oregon.

I love drawing, painting, and learning about the fascinating world of creepy creatures, freaky flora, and wicked wildlife.

I've been 'lucky' to encounter many spooky creatures in the wild including close-up encounters with venomous pit vipers, caiman, and dart frogs in South America, flocks of vultures in Central America, and carnivorous pitcher plants in Asia, and I even swam with hammerhead sharks in the Galapagos Islands.

I've been stung by jellyfish, stabbed by devil's club, bitten by tiger leaches,...all in the name of adventure!

My mission is to inspire folks young and old to appreciate all of nature, even the unloved and misunderstood spooky creatures that nonetheless play important roles in our planet's ecosystems.
